Rippling thoughts, driven by passion,
Making patterns across the streams;
They come, stay, grow and go
And bring me closer to my dreams.
I’m a PhD student at University of California, Santa Cruz working towards research in Crowdsourcing, Machine Learning, Data Science and Human Computer Interaction with applications directed towards Social Good. My particular interest is towards building collaborative systems that can help resolve problems in developing regions around the world. Coming from India, a developing country, I have seen the social and economic environment around and I understand how many problems exist in our community. If I can make any substantial contribution towards development in these regions, I’ll feel satisfied. With my personal projects being in the area of development in Agriculture, along with contributions towards active projects on health and community media, I hope to bring positive change in the lives of millions of people facing difficult challenges in developing countries.
There’s a beautiful quote from The Shawshank Redemption that is synonymous with my thoughts on bringing development in difficult conditions and running continuously on the path with a spark inside. I’d like to share it here:
Remember, Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.
