Smartphone Apps in Agriculture

Today with increased use of Smartphone around the world, there has been enormous application development serving a large number of operations. For almost every profession now, an App exists for some sort of help and support. Similarly for agriculture as well there exist many apps that can provide help to the farmers in different ways. Be it data logging, news and knowledge, weather assistance or even detailed farming education, almost everything is available through Smartphone Apps now. While thinking of similar applications in India, low literacy levels of majority Indian farmers play a significant role. Standard app designs can’t be directly applied in India for effective use. Therefore, in this project, we design suitable interfaces which put into consideration, various literacy factors regarding target users and try to create comfortable and effective Smartphone Apps in Agriculture.
